Sarah Jane Studios Print

I came across this print while browsing Viv’s ish and chi blog. She has done such an incredible job of her son’s nursery, it really is such a beautiful space. I thought the prints she chose were lovely, and I have since purchased The three bears revisited by sarahjanestudios at etsy. I think it will look great in the playroom.

We love … Matthew Van Fleet

This book is so popular in our house. I found it in a bookstore in Leura, NSW last year and it has proved such a hit, I have had to remove it from Noah’s bookshelf to save it from destruction. It’s full of textures to touch, scratch and sniff scent and pull tabs and flaps (hence the destruction), and a counting game, so it covers a wide age bracket as well. The illustrations are lovely and the rhymes are original and a pleasure to read.

Purchase online at Seek Books and Amazon. Dymocks also stock other titles by Matthew Van Fleet including “Fuzzy Yellow Ducklings”, “One Yellow Lion”, and the recently released “Cat”.

Interview with Lisa Mahar

I came across this interview with Lisa Mahar today. She is the owner of a store called Kid O in New York. The interview itself is worth a read, she certainly has an interesting and unique approach to parenting! The reason I mention it however, is because I was really taken with the photographs of her home. She really nails the use of colour (in my humble opinion – I am no expert), with a background of neutrals mixed with highlights of red and splashes of colour throughout. I love it.

Summer sale at Infant Boutique

Infant Boutique have some lovely things on sale at the moment including these beanbags from Cocoon Couture (20% off), the Vintage Phoenix quilt set (50% off) and Chalkboard Animals (20% off).

They’re also selling the Loop Candelabra by Black & Blum (30% 0ff), which I have spotted in lots of home decorating mags recently. Not related at all to this blog, but worth a squiz if you’re looking for a conversation piece for the dining table – apparently the design is inspired by the Fibonacci curve.

We love … Emily Gravett

My sister gave this to Noah for his first birthday, he’s a bit little for it yet but he loves the pictures of the mouse! It is a brilliant book, with flaps and a fold-out map, the illustrations are exquisite. I love the toilet paper tower Little Mouse builds to reach the toilet (he’s afraid of accidents). Gorgeous!
