Boy’s Room Inspiration

I have the Home Beautiful article that featured this home, somewhere in my stash, but just came across the owners copy of the photos on flickr. The styled mag shots look great, but I love the last photo. To that I can relate.

Great Buys for New Mums

Fertilemind Milkbar Feeding Pillow – I bought this after a couple of months of stacking pillows to try and get Noah to sit at the right height so I could sit up properly. This is the only one I’ve tried and I found it worked really well. When it first arrived I was a bit worried it wouldn’t be wide enough for him but that wasn’t the case at all. It retails at $AU64.95 but lasts ages, the cover is removable for washing and it is still as firm as it was when I purchased it. It will definitely see me through baby #2.

Mammas Milk Baby Sling – there are stacks of baby slings on the market, but after shopping around on the internet and reading other peoples recommendations, I decided to go with the Mamma’s Milk brand. I used mine for the best part of a year, both around town and for travelling and it was fantastic. It was comfortable, and it’s completely adjustable so you can tailor it to suit. Noah loved it and fell asleep in it frequently which made outings enjoyable for all! I love their range of colours and fabrics, they are beautifully made and last the distance. These slings retail at $US65.00 and post internationally.

Maternity Clothing by Soon Melbourne - you can’t go past Soon Melbourne for quality and fit, their clothing is really beautiful. Of all the Australian maternity clothing brands, they are my favourite. Check out their Wool Rib tops – gorgeous and comfy, will see you right through your pregnancy and beyond. Their jeans are fantastic, so comfy and they fit so well.

We love … Wheely Bug

Okay, so I’ve heard so many people rave about these. I finally caved and bought one, I only wish I’d done it sooner, it is such a hit. Noah is going mad on it as I type, the only downfall so far is that he seems to think that it is so cool he has to pick it up and put it on the couch next to me so I can really see how good it is. Now in a fit of toddler limit testing he is has pushed it hard against the coffee table one too many times and had it confiscated. Did I mention what a great toy it is?

Seriously though, he has had loads of use out of it, we have timber floors so it is great inside, he can zip around all over the house in it, he’s even learnt to negotiate the step. The best thing about the Wheely Bug’s is that the kids can move in any direction, so they don’t get stuck in tight spots. And they’re super cute. They are a bit on the expensive side, but they’re fairly robust and seem to go the distance. A definite winner.

Slow progress

I was hoping to have photos of the playroom to share, but I’m still waiting on the wallpaper so the room is still only half done. I got stuck in a couple of weekends ago and painted, so the majority is done, I just have to finish off the fireplace. The ikea cabinets have been assembled and look fantastic, all stocked with toys. We also have our beautiful Naoko Stoop prints up on the wall and I picked up a cheap red clock from Kmart. One end of the room looks great anyway!
