Monthly Archives: August 2009Further evidence I have too much time on my hands … I spent a day rearranging our lounge while my husband was in New Zealand. We are a bit restricted with this space because of the layout, but now we don’t need the heater and the accompanying gas vents, I shuffled it out of the way and moved in one of the two seaters. The problem was this vast empty space in the corner between the two sofa’s. A quick trip down to the second hand shop for a table, which just happened to be the perfect size and height, woo hoo, and a collection of bits and pieces I had scattered around the house. Here’s the result. My new favourite corner.
Loving these beautiful ceramic pieces from All Hand Made Gallery. From top: (1) Simon Reece Celadon bowls, $60 each, (2) Phil Elson bowls, (3) Cath O’Gorman, stoneware, glazed oven table dish, $66. Now for somewhere to put them …

no comments I’ve been scouring ebay for beautiful blue depression glass bowls and vases for a display in our dining room. I love the gorgeous patterns and colour. Depression glass was manufactured in the early 20th century and has been on collectors lists since the 1960′s. Because it was mass-produced it’s relatively cheap to buy, and comes in a number of colours – green and amber being the more popular and widely available however, you can also find some lovely pieces in pink and clear, in addition to blue.
