Hello and welcome!

Two Little Dicky Birds is a collection of things that I love, be it interior design, decor, food, travel, art or craft.

In April 2006, my husband and I purchased our first home and spent four years redecorating. It was such a rewarding process, and fuelled a love of interiors, which is now driven by an obsession with decor blogs!

During April 2009, we moved on from our beloved miner's cottage, to a new family home, where we have been chipping away at renovating and redecorating, all the while raising our two little dicky birds, Noah (3) and Sam (9 months).

My two beautiful boys have ignited a long-forgotten love of photography, which you'll find me dabbling in on a daily basis.

Bedroom

With the kids rooms almost finished, I’m hunting around for ideas for the rest of the house. My current obsession is our bedroom, probably because (with a new baby) I’m spending more time in there than I usually would. It’s a room with a couple of challenging features: (1) The layout – it’s only a small space but has three doors (ensuite, nursery, lounge) and windows on one wall and robes on the other; (2) the hardboard walls have ugly joint covers and I’m unsure what to do with them. We’re on a very tight budget, I think I’m probably going to be restricted to a fresh coat of paint, new light shade, lamps and some new linen for the bed. I would love a headboard though and I’ve seen some really fabulous ideas for DIY jobs that shouldn’t be too expensive.

Has anyone had a difficult space like this? Suggestions, ideas, advice all welcome here!
