I finished re-upholstering the bentwood chairs last night, there was a fair bit of sanding, staining and varnishing involved, particulaly as the first colour I picked barely resembled the sample at the store and I had to re-sand and stain them to get it right. I was so pleased when that part was done with! Stapling the fabric to the seat was definitely the highlight. I’m so happy with the fabric, it’s one of my favourite Broadhurst designs.
Beautiful Bentwood Chairs – Complete!February 24, 2010 - 12:27 pm
Very cute! I just got two of this style, $5 each at Goodwill Outlet, but slightly less vintage (not a true bentwood, curls at the top and caning seats) and I’m hoping to pick up more in the future so I can have matching around my kitchen table. February 24, 2010 - 12:56 pm
Thanks! I wish I had more to put around our dining table, alas there were only the two, I may have to keep my eyes peeled for more. I considered painting them too, but I just couldn’t bring myself to it – and I’m not one to hold back on painting furniture. I have seen some fab ones painted though. February 26, 2010 - 5:12 pm

Oh Abby, you did such a good job! I love your chairs, and the fabric you chose is really lovely. I’m definitely leaning towards the Yellow – I now have to work out if I paint or spray paint! Decisions, decisions! p.s Thanks for stopping by my blog June 5, 2011 - 10:35 pm
