Moving House

Well, our time here is just about up, and I am so snowed under! Our life has been whittled down to the absolute bare essentials.  Anything that is not dearly loved or an absolute necessity has been shown the door, everything that is coming with us has been cleaned and packed away, ready for the movers.  I am so, so excited (stressed out, but still excited) and I cannot wait to go!

My attempt to do the 30 day photo challenge was pretty pathetic, but despite my absolute failure to keep up, it did get me to pick up my camera and snap away, which I hadn’t done much of at all during the past few months.  It’s been a nice break from the whole moving business – where my brain is just going over stuff all day, and sometimes through the night too, mentally scribbling things to add to my multitude of lists.  And I remembered how much I love taking photos, so I can’t wait until all this is done and over and I can get back to doing the things I love.

So, this is the big move week and I’ll probably be absent for the next little while until we get settled and moved into our new place.  See you soon, in chilly New Zealand!

30 Day Photo Challenge: Hands

Day 22: Hands

Wow, I’m so behind on this photography challenge!  As if moving countries wasn’t enough to keep us busy, Noah decided to stick a teeny tiny Lego City police car light up his nose last week.  They weren’t able to get it out at our local hospital, so we were packed off down to the children’s hospital in Perth to have the ear/nose/throat specialist remove it.  We were all geared up for a general anaesthetic and a two day stay, but fortunately all it took was a little nitrous gas and a very quick extraction.  Whew.

I didn’t take my camera, between the kitchen sink and the nappies etc… can someone please design a dual purpose camera/nappy bag? Cheers:)

30 Day Photo Challenge: Day 15

Day 15: Silhouette

My 30 day challenge is more like 1, 2 miss a few, 29…

But, the moving is all in hand, and that is that main thing.  Only two and a bit weeks to go till the big day.

Room Reveal: The Boys Shared Room

When Sam was nearly a year old, we decided it was time to move him out of the nursery and away from the master bedroom.  By this time he was sleeping through the night, but he was still waking us with all his snuffling and general baby noisiness.  We pondered the issue of where to move him.  The playroom was too big and would be difficult to heat in winter.  The spare room is right down the far end of the house, and I wasn’t cool with having him so far away.  The only other option was to put him in with Noah, with the possibility of Noah being woken by said snuffling and baby noises.  What to do?  I sat Noah down and asked him (at the very important age of 3) how he would feel about sharing a room with Sam.  Talk about excitement.  Bed bouncing excitement, in fact.  So it began.  Their room is tiny, as you can see – it is a squeeze.  But, they love it.  And just as well, because our new house is teeny tiny and they’ll have no choice:)

By the way, I’ve just removed the Love Mae decals and they are still super sticky, just like they promise :)Value for $$$, love that! I can’t wait to put them up in the boys new room.
